In the name of God Amen I John Trais of Little Whites Alley in the Liberty of the Rolls late of Gough Square Fleet Street will and bequeath to my son Henry William Trais all my property lying in the following public funds 2 hundred pounds stock in the 3 per cent Consols 400 in the 3 per cent reduced 200 pounds one security in the 4 per cent Consols and in the long term? Annuities £472-3-9 yielding an interest of £21 per year and all my goods Chattels etc out of the above property It is my will you give to the Charity of St Georges Hospital Hyde Park Corner the sum of twenty pounds London June the 3 1810

Will of Henry William Trais 1819 proved 1820

This is the last Will and Testament of me Henry William Trais of Southampton Terrace in the County of Middlesex Gentleman whereby I give to my Aunt Rachael Holdsworth of Limehouse in the said county of Middlesex Widow during her life an Annuity of twenty pounds clear of all taxes deductions and abatements whatsoever to be paid quarterly at Ladyday Midsummer Michaelmas and Christmas in every year and the first quarterly payment thereof to begin and be made on such of those days as shall next happen after my death and subject to and charged with the payment of the said Annuity I give and bequeath all my Monies securities for money stock in the public or Government funds or Annuities and all other my personal estate property and effects whatsoever unto William Hughes Thompson of Great Saint Martins Lane in the County of Middlesex gentleman and John Wilkinson of Sackville Street in the same county gentleman their executors administrators and assigns upon the trusts and for the purposes following that is to say upon trust to permit my wife Mary Trais to use and enjoy and to receive and take the interest dividends and annual interest of my said personal estate property and effects and every part thereof respectively for her own use and benefit during such time and so long as she shall happen to live and from and after the death of my said wife then upon trust to pay the interest dividends and annual income of my said personal estate property and effects unto her daughter Cassandra Grimes the wife of Charles Grimes paymaster of the thirteenth regiment of foot now or lately stationed in the island of Guernsey for and during the term of her natural life the same to be for the sole and separate use of the said Cassandra Grimes independent of and without being in any wise subject to the debts control or engagements of her present or any future husband and for which the receipts of the said Cassandra Grimes above notwithstanding her present or any future coverture shall from time to time be good and sufficient discharge to my said Trustees or Trustor for the time being and from and after the death of the said Cassandra Grimes then I direct that my said Trustees or Trustor for the time being shall stand possessed of my personal estate property and effects and every part thereof respectively upon trust for the children or child of her the said Cassandra Grimes who shall live to attain the age of twenty one years or be married to be equally divided between such children if there be more than one share and share alike And if there be only child of the said Cassandra Grimes who shall live to attain the age of twenty one years or be married then the whole to be upon trust for such only child and for their or her executors and administrators respectively and in case there shall not be any children or child of the said Cassandra Grimes who shall live to become entitled to my said personal estate property and effects under the Trust aforesaid then I direct that my trustees or trustee shall stand possessed thereof and of every part thereof respectively upon trust for the executor or administrators of her the said Cassandra Grimes and I hereby authorise and direct my Trustees or Trustee for the time being after the death of my said wife or in her lifetime if she shall desire the same to be done to sell and dispose of such part and parts of my property and effects hereinbefore bequeathed as shall not consists of money or securities for money or of Stock in the public or Government funds or annuities at my death and to place the money arising from such sale or disposition in the funds or at interest on real security in his or their name or names upon the trusts and for the purposes of this my will and I further authorise and direct my said trustee or trustor for the time being after the death of the said Cassandra Grimes and during the minority of her child or children to apply the interest dividends and annual proceeds of the share or shares which such child or children shall from time to time be presumptively entitled to of or in my said personal estate property and effects for or towards his her or their maintenance and education and I appoint the said William Thompson and John Wilkinson executors of this my will In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this – day 1819
