Unknown portrait - possibly Will

This photograph was in the possession of Marjorie Mitchell. The person shown is obviously a soldier but could it be William Trease's son, Will?

As the photograph has been kept, it is thought probable that it was of a person close to members of William's family.

There are no chevrons on the uniform of the person in the photograph. This is compatible with it being Will, who did not advance himself beyond the rank of "Gunner", throughout his career. The buttons, although not clearly distinguishable, have a similar outline to those used by the RGA.

The photograph is embossed in bottom right hand corner - "THE (Crown emblem) STUDIO, EDINBURGH".

A postcard sent to Will at 44 Calton Rd., Edinburgh by his sister Louie and postmarked the 7th September 1931 has survived.
