Discharge

His record of Service states he was a Private from 1 January 1836 to 24 May 1845 when he was discharged.

His discharge says that his conduct and character have been very good and that he has been in the possession of one Good Conduct badge since 2 January 1840.

Totally unfit for service owing to contraction and deformity of the toes arising, according to his own statement, from the use of tight boots 7 or 8 years ago.

Latterly his disability has increased to such an extent as to quite unfit him for service in the ranks.

His right eye has likewise been destroyed, severe inflammation having set in after having been switched by a horses tail 3 years ago.

Has seldom been in hospital; his disabilities proceed from no vice, intemperance or design.
