Elizabeth Trease's gravestone in Warbstow churchyard

Elizabeth Trease's gravestone July 1855 was eventful for the Treases of Warbstow. On July 8th, Richard was born, but this happy event was overshadowed by the death of grandmother Martha Trease a few days later. Then on Thursday July 26th Elizabeth died, possibly following complications from the birth of Richard. The funeral in Warbstow Churchyard on Monday 30th July 1855 must have been a very sad occasion. Elizabeth was just 34 years old and left behind a family of 5 orphan sons and two orphan daughters.
Her grave is alongside that of James Trease. The headstone bears the inscription:-

of this Parish.
