The Firs, Kimberley

This is a copy of a photograph which was in the possession of the late Gordon (Bill) Trease. The original is 3.75" x 5.75" on a dark blue green mount with no markings.

Woman (aged 55- 60) with hat and fur stole sitting on garden seat with dog. Younger woman standing behind. Behind is a high brick wall and to right are two large garden urns.

A former gardener at the Firs positively identified the Urns in this photo as having been in the gardens of the Firs so we have good evidence that the photo was taken in the gardens of the Firs but we are not really sure who the two people are. It is thought most likely that they are Eleanor Hardy and her trusted maidservant, Miss Percy but they do not look that similar to the way they appear in the later photograph taken outside the summer house at the Firs. They both appear to be dressed up for a special occasion.
