Postcard of Malvern Road, Acocks Green, sent by Annie

This is a copy of a sepia postcard which was in the possession of the late Marjorie Mitchell. It shows Malvern Road in the early days before streetlights were installed. The frontages of Fairholme, Hazelhurst, & Lyndhurst can just be seen immediately after the second row of fencing on the left hand side of the road. The houses on the right are similar in style to the house in the photo thought to be of "Ferndale" but possibly a little less elaborate and ornate.

On the back of the postcard are birthday greetings from Annie as follows:

"Just a line to wish you many happy returns of the day, and a safe and pleasant journey tomorrow,

Love from

Annie"

Annie and Fred Whitehouse moved from Malvern Road in 1902 so if this was written while she was still there it would be dated to 1902 or earlier.
