Louie's Bible has many notations inside. Some, like that on the page shown below reference a person and a date and presumably indicate when a reading of that section was made or due to be made in her church or chapel. Tucked inside the Bible were several leaflets from the International Bible Reading Association of which she must have been a member. These leaflets were dated April, May, and June 1934. Louie died in September 1934. You would expect that Louie would normally have kept up to date with her Bible Readings and the fact that they cease in June may indicate that something happened to Louie then. June was the month in which her sister Annie became the first of her siblings to die and Louie may have taken Annie's death very badly.
Also inside the Bible was a birthday card, which is a bit of a mystery as it has nothing handwritten on it. The printed initials J.W.M. are presumably the initials of the sender but it all seems very impersonal. Maybe the sender had sent a letter enclosing the card.
