Will of John Traies, Gentleman of St Pancras, 1787

In the name of God Amen I John Traies of the parish of Saint Pancras in the County of Middlesex Gentleman being of sound mind blessed be God for it do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following I give my soul to Almighty God and who gave it me and my body to Christain burial as to such wordly goods I shall die possessed of I give in manner following I give unto Abbagail Spill my servant this house I now live in and the furniture in the two parlours and ten pounds lawful money of Great Britain as long as she keeps herself from any connection with any man I give unto Benjamin Russell the interest of one hundred pounds at five per cent during his natural life I give unto my two nephews which is soldiers Joseph Treais and his brother ten pounds each of lawful money of Great Britain and my two nephews which are Tuckers at Exeter the sum of fifty pounds each and a gold watch to the eldest and to the youngest my silver watch to be paid within six months after my decease I give unto my brother’s children all that is left after my legacies are paid and the rest of my peace (?) to my brother to be divided amongst his children I give unto Daniel Baston the sum of ten pounds of lawful money of Great Britain and to Abraham Wyvill the sum of five pounds of lawful money of Great Britain and I do appoint William Traies Daniel Baston and Abraham Wyvill my joint executors of this my last Will and Testament revoking all former wills by me heretofore made In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this sixteenth day of July 1787 John Traies Signed sealed and delivered and declared as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in the presence of each other have set our hands Richd. This Will was proved at London the fourth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven ... by the oaths of William Traies the brother of the deceased Daniel Baston and Abraham Wyvill ...
