Dorothy Gynn Trease was born on Sunday 12th April 1852 the daughter of
James and Elizabeth Gynn
and a granddaughter of
William and Martha Uglow.
She lived with her parents at the smithy at Warbstow Cross until she got married on the 19th February 1876 at Tower Street Chapel in Launceston.
It was a Bible Christian Marriage and her husband was William Sandercock, a 20 year old tailor living at New House in St Gennys.
William's father, Benjamin had died in St Gennys in 1871. He had been a farm worker and had married a widow, Mary Ann Danger, in St Gennys church on 3rd August 1839. For some years
Benjamin had looked after the spinster Loveday Marshall his house at Tresparret Lane, St Gennys in her declining years until she died in 1852.
Loveday was the daughter of Thomas Marshall and Mary Trease, and it is thought she was related in some way to Benjamin.
William's mother, Mary Ann, had children by her previous marriage to Robert Danger. At the moment, we do not know her maiden name.
His wife, Dorothy, died in the Stratton area early in 1924 aged 72. It is not known when William died.
William and Dorothy had six children: -
